Mango Sunsets and Ping Pong "Shows" in Bangkok

So yesterday I had a tinder date (with surely the tallest person in Bangkok at the moment, a guy from the Netherlands who had to be 6'7'' minimum) and after drinks on the river for the sunset we walked around the Khao San night market. We keep passing these signs for "ping pong show" and he's like, do you know what that is? Yes, sure, you watch a game with near-pros, they love ping pong here! I had seen ping pong matches on TV here instead of football and soccer, so I just assumed. Nope! He was not no naive, told me I was wrong, and explained what he thought they were (basically a porn show) and when I was dubious, he asked one of the guys. Sure enough, they are shows where the women pop out ping pong balls.. south of their mouth, shall we say. The mental image was enough for me!

Before that, I spent my day eating rice and crispy egg for breakfast, ordering a fitted blouse, walking around the city into the mazes down tiny alleys, getting too hot and tuk tuking around the city, watching the sunset, and eating street pad thai and coconut ice cream. Pretty parts pictured below.

Breakfast at Kopi Hya Tai Kee for the third time, love this place! It's near The Big Swing and a long street lined with shops selling all sizes of plastic gold buddhas, including unimaginably massive.

Rat police?! JK, but I actually have not seen any rats. Maybe we could use a rat police in NYC!

The top of The Big Swing. Wait for it...

There are men all the way up there! Unattached!

Down one alley:

Vast selection of dried fish:

Down another alley, a river garden:

Floating food stand:

Hidden shrine and wild branched tree down another:

After staring at this intimidating bus map for a few minutes, I was like, I think I'll take a tuk tuk!

Sunset over Chao Phraya River

Temples have incredibly long names here. This one across the river is Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawararamahawihan.

Goodnight!
