Let this New Yorker be the judge of that!

For some reason, a lot of people were trying to tell me that Buenos Aires has really good pizza... I knew this wasn't going to be true, because I live in New York City, where my votes go to Di Fara and Artichoke. However, two uber drivers, one barista, and one postcard shop owner were all very proud of the pizza here, and there is a very obvious Italian presence. So I went to one Uber driver's recommendation, the "best pizza in Buenos Aires:" Güerron Pizza.

The vibe here, I love. You either stand at the counter, as many do, and have a slice and maybe a beer, or you sit down in the back.

I didn't see any tourists, but there must be some, evidence:

Now, the pizza. It's not bad! I've been here twice now.

It is solid, and significantly, significantly, better than the atrocity I ate in Quito. It's not taste, but Güerron does have one thing over most NYC pizza joints: the scene & the vibe. Stand at one of the counters or eat in the back at a table, this is an awesome, low key, obvious local favorite spot for a beer and a slice or three. Just note that the standard "Mozzarella" pizza does not have much tomato sauce, and no one eats pizza with their hands here. Also, know that it is thick bread-y crust.
